About us

I always wanted an Alfa Romeo, but Ford and Holden Utes were the go living and working in the bush back then.

Living in WA, I finally acquired my first Alfa Romeo (33) in 1990 shortly followed by a 1.8 Alfetta. This mighty little car stayed with the family for many years and was my daily driver carting all my tools around the bush doing on farm mechanical work. Also tripping off to Tassie loaded up with Bilby vests, Debs Business at the time.

In 1992 with the birth of our second child, we upgraded to an Alfa 75 Twin Spark. This car inspired both myself and my wife (Deb) to take up driver training with the Alfa Club in Sydney.

Travelling down from Scone, we would spend many weekends either at Oran Park or Amaroo, racing.

The passion had well and truly set in!

I met Nigel Bolling and Mick Mitchell (Autodelta Sydney) during this time. Nige has assisted me with mechanical knowledge over many years and has become a lifelong friend to all of our family. Through Nige and with him I worked at the 2003 Bathurst 24 Hour on the Alfa 156 GTA and with Bruce Garland over 8 years on the Mobil 1 Trial and then on multiple Australian Safari’s with the Holden Jackaroo team as a mechanic.

I started collecting Alfas around 1993 (some say it’s a disease) and doing them up. I just could not leave one behind, so even those beyond mechanical repair were shovelled onto a truck to be parted out. At one stage at our Kurwongbah home, we had close to 40 cars in varying stages of repair and disrepair.

After moving to and from NSW a few times we have finally settled in Warwick Qld with most of these collected parts (two 40ft containers) plus more. We are close to Leyburn and Morgan Park.

This might be a future challenge to get a car back on the track for our fun!

Testimonials

I have been purchasing parts from Julian for over 20 years. Julian is very knowledgeable about Alfas especially pre 1991. Be sure that he will use that knowledge to assist you in not only getting the right part, but how to install it.

Angus Saunders

Julian Lord is a straight shooter. His word is his bond. He cared for my Alfa Romeo Spyder for many years and I was sad to see him leave Brisbane. Whatever he tells you is factually correct and I have recommend him to all who ask.

Tony Nelson

I’ve known Julian for over 25 years and have also had the pleasure of working with him. Over the years he has accumulated a vast collection of Alfa Romeo’s, as well as new and used parts for the cars that he and his wife Debbie, have a great passion for.. They are now offering help to collectors, restores and repairers, in bits they could be sourcing for their Alfa Romeo’s… They are always my first point of call at the times I need anything from my cars, and have found that they’re very honest and reliable.. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending, that anyone needing that “very special little Alfa, part…” to give them a call

Nigel Bolling

Julian Lord repaired and maintained my road and race Alfa Romeos for many years. Julian takes a practical, no nonsense approach and has a deep understanding of Alfas.
